Man, it's feels like forever ago since the last post. So let's see, Brutus was having a stomach issue the last time. This happens quite often as our boys are glutton pigs and can always find inappropriate things to munch on at the park. But after about a day it started, he started pooping blood. For the dramatic effect, he waited until we had a light layer of snow on the ground, so the contrast of white and bright red would really freak momma out. Needless to say, we rushed him to his favorite German vet, who also treated him the last time for a similar ordeal resulting from his eating charcoals. And yes, as of Tuesday, she was still 6-foot tall, gorgeous, skinny, AND had the ability to heal my dog, which made her a perfect being in my opinion. I'm happy to report that Brutus is doing much better. We've kept both boys out of the park these past few days to give his stomach a break, so they are a little miffed with us as usual.
Wil and I have been working on moving stuff around the house and getting the nursery ready. He sets up the long awaited crib but Chase's dresser is still somewhere else in Germany. And to further prove that aafes buyers are really total idiots: there is not a single crib mattress ANYWHERE (PX/BX) in Germany. It seems that they have not gotten wind of the correlation between the deployment rotation and the baby boom. The war has only been going on for half a decade, but really, take your time. We waited for 3 months for the crib to show up, now it'd take another 2 weeks-2 months for the mattress to arrive. We can't go out on the economy to buy one because German crib/mattress have different dimensions. Sigh. Anyway, the boys have shown themselves to be vigilant protective brothers since the nursery begins to look like a nusery. Wil put this little prayer bear that we got at the baby shower in the crib, and they have been taking turns to check on it and sleeping in the room keeping guard. The combination of hormones and motherly pride make me a little emotional every time I see them sleeping in the nursery, protecting a stuffed animal in the crib that will soon hold their baby sister. That or they are just plotting how to get into the crib to destroy the new toy. Knowing our kids, this might be a toss-up.
Other than that, I don't have much to report. I'll post the pictures of the nursery as soon as the dresser and beddings arrive--along with my new camera to capture the glory that is our blood, sweat, and tears. Hope you are having a good week!
Happy 26th Valentines Day!
